- About Me:
- am both a Chausie owner and a member of Chausie Cat Rescue. Chausies are a cross between domestic cats and African Jungle Cats (the ancient Egyptians kept JCs, which are "dog-like." Along with other groups who work with hybrids (Bengals, a cross between domestic and Asian Leopard Cat; Savannahs, a cross between domestic and serval, etc.) to combat the ignorance that makes them illegal in various states and even within individual cities and counties. Like the dog breeds facing BSL, there is NOTHING dangerous about the animals -- ignorant people cause any problems that occur. Instead, certain types of dogs and cats are being singled out as "bad," "ill-tempered," "dangerous," "not pets," etc. These are all falsehoods based on ignorance as well as the result of owners who either train the animals they should protect to be vicious or simply don't bother caring for them at all.

- I currently have three cats of my own: Two are Chausies (F1 and HP F2); the other is a moggie. In the early morning hours of February 1, a third Chausie died in my arms as a winter storm raged outside. I do love dogs, especially Rotties!
