- About Me:
- I am a mother of one wonderful daughter. I am 36 years old & have always been a huge animal lover. I am actually waaay more fond of dogs than people. As a matter of fact, my mother & I have joked that it was evident at avery young age that I wasn't going to be a people person but rather a dog lover because instead of having the usual "imaginary friend" I had 3 "imaginary puppies" named "Whiney," "Biney," & "Shaw."
- Pets you have:
- 1. Suzie- Border Collie Mix- 10 yrs old- rescued from Tulsa, Ok SPCA
2. Precious- shihtzu mix- unsure of age- rescued stray- found in 2001
3. Mollie- white miniature schnauzer- 3 yrs old- adopetd from a friend who rescued her from a puppy mill in 05.
4. Rosie- Pit Bull- 1 year old- rescued from back yard breeder selling her and her brother on the side of the road in the hot sun with no water or food... mother was obviously used to fight by the scars my husband observed... a friend of ours saved Rosie's brother that day.
5. Mack- Boxer - 6 months old - given to us by a friend. Poor boy had his jaw broken in a scuffle with one of their other dogs. They got him all fixed up but he had to have his jaw wired so when we got him he was VERY skinny... just a tall lanky, little boy! He's been eating like a horse & putting on some weight though. He & Rosie, our pit, are the best of friends & act like they've been together since birth.

Dear Dogs and Cats,
The dishes with the paw prints are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Please note, placing a paw print in the middle of my plate of food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.

It IS tough, but I believe we all have a calling in life to do something.Some people are good at helping sick people, or at fighting aids. My calling is to help the animals, especially the Pits as I believe they are far beyond the most abused breed of dog on earth.
It is super hard to let go of a dog I am fostering...especially on my kids...they cry for weeks and my 3 year old still wants to get back the last 2 pit puppies we had here...it is sad, but at the same time we stll do have plent of our own pets here and it is instilling good values/morals in my children. My 3 year old daughter wont even let you swat a mosquito because she says everything has a right to live...go figure! LOL And who am I to contest that when I preach the same thing! ;0)
Trust me when I tell you that you are doing as much as me and the other Pit rescuers are just by being involved...we all have different parts to play and education and spreading the word is 50% of the fight...saving lives will not end the Pit Bull problem but education is key!
Keep up the good work...stay involved and know that every time you talk to someone or join an awareness group like this one YOU ARE HELPING SAVE LIVES! :0)
